I'd like to request a quick search box plugin. The plan is to have a simple search box in the upper right hand corner, and the Administrator can choose what the results show up as by default in their Admin CP. And example of what I'm talking about is located on Ubuntu Forums, in the upper right hand corner. Thank you

You can just use a template edit.  You'd need to be familiar with HTML however.
In fact, some themes have it I think.

It's mainly copying the search page's code, and stripping out the extra textboxes etc.
