Check under your AdminCP settings. Default length is 200 chars, but can go up to 255 if you're using MySQL. If you wish to go higher, you can change the column type in the threads table to TEXT.

I think you're going to have to test without plugins, then add them one by one to see if it's a conflict somewhere. It's definitely not an issue on that line of the plugin however.
plug in refusing to work for me i have it enabled and everything still not showin
I would guess this may be due to template modifications. Does it work on the default theme (with no template modifications)?

What effect does it have on server? Does it make server more busy?
