What I mean is that what is before Special Forums is not shown. Otherwise I have to create a new category to have one child forum only, because if I hide category B in my example, all child forums will seem like if they were not part of a parent category but in fact I just wanted Forum A to be like that. Get me?
I guess that would work too, though I can't see it exactly being "better" than the current scheme. Your suggestion allows parents to be hidden on within certain child forums, but doesn't allow selective hiding of parents.
Ultimately, it made more sense to me to hide the "current" forum in breadcrumb rather than its parents.
What are you trying to achieve exactly?
Is it possible to only allow registered / logged in users to view / download XThread files via the settings? if not can you please make it
if its ok for you
EDIT:
ok managed to do it
with a rewrite of the dl link
Just as additional info:
If we only need to hide the download link, we can use [Viewable by Usergroups] setting.
Can be 'expanded' (I think) if we use conditional in the [Display Format], for example: minimum post to view the download link.
We can use one additional custom thread field for the download setting, so we can set the setting per thread basis.
After reading the documentation and after doing some search around this website I can't seem to find an answer for my question.
Is it possible to add a field for searching? What I mean is that if I create a field named tags and people enter some tags in that field, can I set that field to be "searched" via inline searching?
I found the usage of "__search" but doesn't seem to be what I'm looking for.
I think Yumi not applying it (yet):

Oh I didn't find that one, thanks RateU!
You may be able to filter on thread fields (only exact match filtering though) but it won't integrate with the inline thread search.
hmm i checked the xthreads_attach.php and the TODO is for user perms.. i really want user perms for downloads
-----
but i dunno why but when a new thread reply is added, the sort options is being disregarded.. as seen on my forum where 3-08-11 comes first before 3-12-11 then 2-24-11 .. the first date (3-08-11) contains a new reply
it is arrange on how the new replies are posted
is that a bug?
The protection there is just session checking. It'll probably never be added though.
Hiding the links should be sufficient as it is unlikely someone can guess the URL of the attachment. Only registered users will be able to grab the file this way anyway.
The only thing session checking would prevent is a registered user giving out the link to an unregistered user. Which doesn't mean much, because the registered user could theoretically just upload to somewhere else without any protection.
