God Harry, It took me awile to re-read 8 pages approx 3 times well worth reading
I totally understand you and I applaud you!!!
In any Online Community today you have to set "ALL RULES" as Primary and enforce them 100%, and this is the ONLY way to grow and move forward in any Online Community big or small towards the right direction.
If a site has "Rules & Regulations, BUT if nobody is taking proper steps to punishing the violators, whats the point on having those rules in the first place if nobody follows them?
I know "Harry" has mentioned at least a few times in the last 8 pages in regards to specific people not following " Rules and Regulations" on a certain site. Lets say that I decide to break a traffic Violation, well in my city the traffic rules are very strict. We ALL are bound to obey Rules no matter who we are! So we have ALL grown up obeying Rules. Where I live we have very strict fines for those people who do not obey Rules here!
I know everyone here has different forums & sites for there own reasons. So I am curious to know if you can share your experience and knowledge on the Rules that are implied on your own site?
a. Do you apply your site Rules to everyone?
b. Do you read others site Rules?
d. Do you follow your own site Rules?
My point is quite simple, if you answered No to eathier a,b,c it could mean that is the real reason to why your Community is suffering!
Harry has made some Valid Points about the "The laws and rules that govern different sites and forums" and my post was in regards to Harry.
Thanks

He has, but he has also made some shonky ones. Plus he does have a tendency to sidestep/twist to suit his argument, on occasion. I'm personally not of the belief that all of his points are purely altruistic.
Anyhows, I personally think the whole paid/free debate in itself is a non-starter. That is for the respective coders to decide when they release their work. The licence and its enforcement is a completely different matter, however, as is how they are allowed to conduct themselves on the official site. Those points lead to what is the main problem, IMHO. The actual people in charge of the project, not the mod authors. The mod authors have merely seen an opportunity and used it. Not exactly ethical, granted, but it's not exactly a surprise, human nature being what it is.

I find it pretty funny how you always come back to this same tired shit when it is a viewpoint you don't agree with.. Do all a favor and point out my shonky ( never heard of such a word ) ones. Thanks.
And sorry but all is to blame ( including those who ignored the license. Still doing it too i might point out ) but yeah the MYBB staff could have been more clear about the license.
In the end it really doesn't matter what you say because as you have stated countless times MYBB is not for YOU. You have found something to bitch about where the project is concerned for just about everything. So really not sure why this subject is of any concern to you.

This is another thing you have a tendency to do. Interpreting what someone writes. I suppose you missed the word 'main' in my post? That means I am not referrring to one thing specifically, but merely saying what is the primary problem, in my opinion. With regards to pointing out some of your shonky points, the answer would be pretty much all of them.

This is the thing which I really find tiresome with you, to be perfectly honest. Your opinion is not the only one allowed, no matter how highly you may think of it, (which you do). What I say matters every little bit as much as whetever you might have to say. Whether I personally think the software is naff or not is irrelevant. Plus, the reason I have found plenty to bitch about is due to the retarded opinions of both the MyBB Dev's and a lot of the, (for wont of a better term), fanboy userbase who think that the sun shines out of MyBB's arse. Plus, even if I was interested in using MyBB personally, I wouldn't simply for the reasons I mentioned above. The operating logic of the system, the Dev's and some of the users leave a lot to be desired. A good community and Dev team is just as important as the software itself, in my book. MyBB fails dismally in those regards, in my opinion.
By the way, the difference between you and I is that I'm not so far up my own arse that I believe my opinion is the only one worth anything. I can actually read, (correctly and without interpretation), and see the intent of all opinions not my own.

I can see i hit a nerve. I really can careless what you are tired of. But you go on trying to make it about ME. Only one with their head so far up their ass is you. You are simply pissed because i have now called you out about your bs act here and over at TAZ for that matter. As said on TAZ all you have done since you entered these discussions is attack MYBB, the software itself, it's developers and most of it's users. yeah i saw your little comment about all of those who use MYBB ( your response to paveman ) over at TAZ before that TAZ admin edited it out. All you have done is take advantage of the situation ( to start your shit with MYBB ) starting with the free vs paid/license stuff. Yeah i have had my gripes about the license/mods and how they handled that but you had better think again if you think that means i don't care when some moron comes along posting bullshit about the project and it's users. So yeah i'll be there every step of the way whenever you feel the need to spew more bs about MYBB. So my suggestion is to either get involved with another project, do one yourself or just find something else to do with your time.
Do yourself a favor and don't be so obvious the next time you go somewhere to intentionally start problems.
