In MyBB 1.8 does not count the amount of downloads? Could someone verify this?
variable: {$GLOBALS['threadfields']['fupload']['downloads_friendly']}

There's a known issue with the latest MyBB 1.8 and XThreads which may prevent download counts working properly.
