ya it seems quite useful but I think IPB`s api system is more advanced...

Probably this is the 'easiest' way pulling out a 'basic forum info' to other page outside of forum.
I never use IPB, so I don't know IPB's API system.

I saw it in the demo... You can register for a demo on there official site...

More complex, and we have an ability to add our own 'function'. Probably, for most users (noob users like me), we only use the ready to use functions.

But I never have a 'serious' page outside the forum
