EDIT: What the CEO did was legal, in that country, but also pretty stoo-pid, IMO.

I personally don't think it's "wrong", unlike some of the Youtube comments such as this one (then again, the average intelligence of the Youtube commenter is pretty damn low):

Either these sorts of people are hardcore vegetarians or don't know where pork/beef etc come from.
It's not like the elephant was tortured, and it gives people food, just like how most people consider killing pigs for food is acceptable.

Publicity doesn't help much if you have 1000's of people transferring away their domains.

Godaddy, in general, will be interesting to watch:
Pre-2008: Clearly #1 / A 'Healthy' valuable, privately-held company.
Post-Recession: Many people who would have kept renewing __ number of domains, suddenly are short on money.

Last year (mid-September) Godaddy is looking for a buyer.

• Will the domain 'industry' ever fully recover?
• In ~5 years will Godaddy still be #1, or will they be like MySpace?

I don't think GoDaddy has ever been considered a "good" registrar, especially with all the crap they try to slug on you.  They've just been one of the cheapest.
