Make display values different from actual values for list boxes/option box/checklists

I cannot figure out how to make display values different from actual values for list boxes, option box and checklists.

For example, if I want my listbox to display:
No
Maybe
Yes

But I want the actual values to be:
0
1
2

... how exactly do I accomplish this, or is it even possible?
