xthread filter range?

Is there a way to filter by a xthreads custom field using a range?

Example: all threads talk about an event, and have a custom field that contains the year the event took place. I want to see all threads that talk about one that happened before 1980 (where 1980 can be any number).

If you've set the data type to number, yes.
Check the description for "Filtering Mode" on add/edit thread field page.
