RE: Download System
The field everyone (required) means that they HAVE to add a file. You can set WHO you want to add files by defining the groups who can view the field.

EDIT : sorry, I mean who can EDIT the field.

RE: Download System
I just added this to my forum so members can upload and download vehicle reports.  But I have 2 problems...

The reports members will be uploading are in pdf format.  So I want the screenshot to be the same as the uploaded pdf?  I added pdf as a valid file extension to the screen shot upload field and changed it to allow files as well as images but it only shows a link.  How can I make it display pdf screen shots?  Most of my members wont have the tools to make a screen shot of a pdf file.

Also, the Download Now button doesn't seem to work?  It just goes to a blank screen and says STOPPED in the bottom browser status bar.  Is this because it is a pdf file?

RE: Download System
Unfortunately, I don't know how to grab a screenshot for pdf file automatically.

Alternatively, you can remove the screenshot fields, so, it is just like a file download.

Or you can set the Screenshot fields as non a required field. When a user has a screenshot for the fiel (create it manually), they can upload the screenshot, but, if they don't have a screenshot for the file, the can still upload the file without a screenshot. You can set the default image if a user not upload a screenshot.

There is some alternative layout for this (without a screenshot):

http://mybbhacks.zingaburga.com/showthre...http://mybbhacks.zingaburga.com/showthread.php?tid=293&pid=34

For the download button, try to use a text URL.

I've tried to click the download button, and it opens my PDF reader automatically.
I think it works?

But you can try to use a text URL.

Sounds good...I can always make the screen shots for them after upload.  Better yet, I just made the link for a photo of the car instead of the report!

What do you mean by text url for the download button?  I've been studying your example, but I'm not sure what you mean?

I mean something like this (in Display Format):

HTML Code
<a href="{URL}">{FILENAME}</a>

If this works for all member, you can style it later.

RE: Download System
Hmmm...I am stumped!  The text url still does not work.  I even uploaded a new pdf to rule out a problem with the original.

ETA:  Just tested in IE and it works!  What would cause FireFox to null the download?

RE: Download System
It works in chrome too so I'm guessing you don't have a pdf reader installed in Firefox.
