In the forum display, where it displays all the subforums.

The "easiest" way (I think), you can use query for that.
Or, maybe you can use $fcache (I think).

You can see it in the demo forum:

You might be able to grab info of the current (not including subforums) forum from $foruminfo.

You're going to need PHP if you want to include subforums.

Off Topic:
When XThreads 1.4 release officially later, I will add other "version" for this Link Directory.
It will use one forum only.
For a forum that doesn't have many links, I think it is better to use one forum than using a Forum for each Link Category.
We will use a custom thread fields for Link Category, like other XThreads example applications.
And I think it will not have many problem for "converting" our Link Directory to this version (if we want to do that), because XThreads 1.4 has a moderation tools (many many thanks, Yumi!).

I've tried it in my demo forum for "converting" my Link Directory to this version:
http://www.14.mynie.co.cc/forumdisplay.php?fid=46
The moderation tools works great for me, and the language prefix too.
I use language prefix for the demo above, and use the moderation tools to "update" the link category.
All links/threads copied from the "original" Link Directory.

RE: link directory...can someone make this?
I'm really sorry for bumping double post.
I can't hold myself to post this, because I'm reaaaaally happy now Biggrin

I've edited the new link directory in the demo forum:
http://www.14.mynie.co.cc/forumdisplay.php?fid=46

I've added the "Go" link in forumdisplay_thread.

So, we have two links there:
1. The original link title -> If users click the link, they will view the showthread.
2. The "Go" link -> If users click this link, they will be redirected to the site.

We can do that with the new XThreads feature, Variables and conditionals in forum template prefix, and without involving additional plugin.

We can use Reply/Comments like a normal thread now.

And there is a "Miscellaneous" box at the left.
With a simple "trick", using that new feature and template edit (removing the multipage variable), it will displaying some "Most" thingy (eg: Most Viewed, Most Rated and etc) for our link directory.

With this feature, we can have "virtual pages" Biggrin

Really amazing and useful feature! No, this is not a feature, this is a magic from Yumi Biggrin Heart

I will add that version when XThreads 1.4 release later.
I think it is not too hard to "convert" our Link Directory to this version later.
