events system
rateu,

can you whip up an events system with xthreads?

I posted this a while ago on mybb's forum, but no1 really picked it up and this is something that's lacking in mybb.

*this is directly copied from my post on mybb*
I've posted this before in the mybb suggestions, but I'll post it here to see if this can be made into a plugin.

this is something that is useful in vbulletin.

you'd set up a section specifically for events..when someone makes a post in that section, it automatically adds it to the calendar and adds an events section in the footer area of the forum:

RE: events system
Whoa, looks like this is calendar week - I am hobbling along on a similar request over in the modifications forum.

Meanwhile, I think that this is a full scale plug in you are looking for rather than an Xthread - its the automatic posting of the event to the calendar that will be the hard part I think.

No problem Shemo -  I like your approach with the Xthreads idea and I think that actually making that great big dinosaur of a useless calendar do something would be a big bonus for MYBB.

after looking at your thread, it doesn't actually seem like it fully does what I'm trying to do.

RE: events system
No, not fully, but we are both looking at the same thing - modifying the calendar, specifically the events system.
