Integrate fields into search?

Is it possible to integrate the field values into the search? In other words, is it possible to make the default mybb search look at the threadfield's value?

A practical example would be to make search look into topic descriptions.

I remember Zinga Burga saying this was not possible.

But maybe we can create a custom page (like a second custom search.php) with some check boxes that will send the user to a url with threads filtered using the same check boxes the user checked before.

I don't if you understand what I mean, and that will be almost just html I think...
