Suppose I want to show some links of link directory on index page and we want to show them in sorted manner by name in index page, is it possible ?
Possible with additional plugin to pull data to index.php (if that's what you mean by the index page).
There are some plugins posted around this forum to show you how to pull XThreads data to the index.php.
Maybe with some modifications it works with your link directory.

I followed the link for the Link Directory in One Forum on MyBB 1.8.22 with XThreads 1.68 (Thanks a lot for that great plugin!).
Everything seem to working just fine - unless I enable the sort functionality on the category field.
This yields the following error:
SQL Error:
1054 - Unknown column 'tfd.xtldcat' in 'where clause'
Query:
SELECT COUNT(tid) AS threads FROM iioc_threads t WHERE fid = '44' AND (t.visible IN (1,-1,0)) AND (tfd.`xtldcat` LIKE "%parts%")
Do you maybe have a hint for me?
